Senior Software Development Engineer

Webroot is widely recognized for setting the technology standard by focusing on
research and development. Our highly regarded R&D organization, based in
Boulder, Colorado, is expanding operations. In light of this expansion,
Webroot is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer. The Senior Software
Development Engineer performs product design and development, bug verification,
and release testing. This Developer will participate in the implementation of
solutions that employ leading-edge technologies in a Linux or UNIX development
environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and maintain system level gateway software in C/C++
under Linux/Unix. Generate performance metrics to analyze throughput,
reliability, and general performance characteristics
• Develop detailed test cases and document/communicate test results to
ensure good code coverage encompassing scalability, performance, functionality,
and heterogeneous platform scenarios
• Identify and implement high value process improvements and efficiencies
• Explore scenarios for addressing usability issues in collaboration with
information/interaction design engineers and customer experience managers
• Field first and second line support requests

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Programming experience using C/C++ under Linux and/or Unix. Java
and/or scripting skills a plus
• Network software development engineering experience required
• Higher level experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL
and/or Microsoft SQL Server strongly desired
• Security industry experience preferred
• Experience with Windows or embedded Windows development a plus
