Position:       Sales Engineer
Location:       Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

 This position will be responsible for pre sales technical support. This 
position is an integral part
of a sales team. This key contributor to our sales process will work closely 
with sales and
marketing to support the sales process of our client storage security and 
encryption solutions in
our
key vertical markets of financial services, insurance, high technology, 
telecommunications, and
manufacturing. The position requires deep product and technical knowledge, the 
ability to
support the sales strategy and ensure customer satisfaction. Details as follows:

Sales Strategy
* Qualifies, validates and ensures appropriate technical sales strategy and 
activities
* Applies and promotes the usage of Salesforce.com, Strategic selling 
techniques, and Sales
Effectiveness tools to develop the sales strategy
* Develops and delivers demonstrations and presentations that solve the 
customer/prospect's
problems and needs
* Supports business development activities and marketing events
* Leads discovery sessions with technical evaluators, business users, 
executives and integrators
to map customer requirements to Our client's product functionality
* Anticipates and handles objections during the sales process articulating 
clear and concise
responses while positioning the benefits of the Our client's product solution
* Takes ownership of meetings to ensure that meeting objectives are 
articulated, the agenda is
followed, the objectives are validated at the end of the call, and follow up 
items are responded to
promptly

Product and Technical Knowledge:

* Delivers product demonstrations which feature our unique value proposition , 
competitive
advantages and business benefits
* Delivers technical architecture presenting technical features, competitive 
advantages and
business benefits

* Ensures compelling answers to questions and RFI/RFP responses
* Participates in and assists in the delivery of all appropriate product 
training to acquire and
maintain a detailed level of product knowledge
* Develops strong relationships with Engineering, Marketing, Product Marketing 
and provides
input for product direction

Customer Satisfaction
* Sets proper expectations during the sales cycle to ensure customer 
satisfaction
* Transitions all information gathered during the sales cycle to the 
integration team (attends
scoping session and provides documentation gathered during sales cycle)
* Builds and maintains relationships and customer satisfaction in relevant 
accounts

Prerequisites
• At least five years of full-time work experience and proven success 
working for a top-tier
information consulting, software, or other technology or business solutions 
company
• Technical experience or expertise in the majority of the following: 
Security software, Linux,
Solaris, UNIX, Windows, Networks, Relational database technology, Systems 
administration,
Project Management
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and verbal communication skills
• Ability and desire to promote and sell products and service to decision 
makers
• Must be highly motivated, competitive, and a self-starter
• Ability to communicate and cooperate in a team sales environment
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent problem solving abilities and detail orientation, and a 
demonstrated background of
continuous learning
• BA or BS degree (technical concentration)
