Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: South Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-02-11
This position includes the responsibilities of an Information Security
Infrastructure Manager with a focus on providing professional and technical
leadership in support of network/security deployment and management. The
individual will manage the network/security team, deploying and managing
technology solutions that leverage consistent policy and procedures
commensurate with the Corporation network/security strategy. Additionally the
candidate will be responsible for the following.
Effectively managing and leading the team in the deployment and management of
WAN, LAN, VoIP and Security solutions.
Deployment and seamless integration of new products into the environment
Configuring, deploying and managing enhancements to the Corporate Voice and
Data networks in support of Client, Business Unit and Infrastructure objectives.
Creating and presenting business level communication describing technical
solutions
Providing Tier II support to Network Operations unit(s).
Providing substantial leadership for strategic initiatives
Maintaining a working understanding of industry trends to effectively align
technical solutions with business challenges
Maintaining a structured methodology for planning, deployment and management
Estimating and managing team workload and capacity.
Fostering and documenting continuous improvement in process and procedures.
Addressing problems and issues that have a major impact on business units.
Working cross-functionally to accomplish overall objectives.
The candidate must have previous management experience working in a performance
culture as well as very strong oral and written communication skills. S/He
must be comfortable working with executive level staff throughout the full
life-cycle of network/security projects. S/He must have prior experience
managing large, complex projects and associated staff. S/He must demonstrate
the ability to assess business requirements and match technological solutions
to these requirements. S/He must be a team player and equally comfortable in
both mentoring and peer-oriented roles. The candidate should have a "passion"
about network/security technology that drives consistent high-quality delivery
and business interaction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (Concentration in MIS/Network Operations preferred)
10 years of relevant industry experience (financial industry preferred)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Cisco Certified
Network Administrator (CCNA) certification preferred
Experience working in complex global network environments consisting of 100+
sites distributed throughout North America, Europe Middle East and Africa
[EMEA], Asia Pacific and Australia
Understanding of business continuity with experience in planning and
implementation of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Recovery (BR) solutions.
Understanding of network and application level security parameters necessary to
facilitate the design and deployment of strong information security solutions
Demonstrated ability to manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Strong knowledge of information security technologies
Firewalls (NetScreen, Checkpoint, Cisco PIX’s, Cisco Firewall Services
Module)
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
Information Security Scanning
Proxy services and Domain Name Service (DNS) - Bluecoat, NetID & BIND
Virtual Private Networks (VPN) client-to-gateway and gateway-to-gateway
SSL VPN gateways – Neoteris/Juniper IVE
User authentication methods (i.e. Radius, LDAP, ACE)
Content-based networking (Cisco Content Data Networking Products: CSS, CSM,
GSS, Foundry)
Strong knowledge of Internetworking Technologies
Internet Protocol (IP) Routing
Wide Area Networking (WAN)
Local Area Network (LAN)
Strong knowledge of server and operating system technologies
MCSE, Solaris (SCSA)/AIX (CSE)/UNIX
Web, http, https, and related protocols
Additional Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree (MBA preferred)
Consultative experience in related industry
Working knowledge of emerging technologies and associated implications
802.1x Port Based Network Access Control
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
Wireless Networking (802.11)
Video transport across Internet Protocol (IP) networks
