Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-01-29
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Security
Operation Center (SOC) infrastructure. This will include deploying, configuring
and maintaining security solutions (IDS/IPS, firewalls, content security) in
customer networks. The individual in this role must also keep up with current
vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
AS or 5-7 years working experience in InfoSec industry
Network +, Security +, CISSP and/or SANS GSEC Certification(s) preferred
Strong working knowledge of Intrusion Detection, Firewall technologies,
vulnerability concepts
In-depth understanding of routing, Internet services and protocols like TCP/IP,
DNS, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, etc.
Strong understanding of Information and System Security
Working experience with Enterasys, Checkpoint, SourceFire, NetScreen, SAN
hardware, etc. a plus
Very Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems (5-7 years)
Experience with SIM tools
Ability to work independently, as well as in a highly collaborative team
environment
Experience operating in a 24x7 shift environment, leading shift
responsibilities and coordination
Highly motivated with a positive attitude
Solid interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and willing to work in many areas of the information security field
