Position: Jr. Security Analyst
Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-01-29
The successful candidate will evaluate the security posture of computers and
networks and respond to network and system intrusive activity. The individual
in this role will also analyze network traffic and system logs to determine
corrective action and will then implement countermeasures and operates security
tools. Other key responsibilities will include:
1st Tier monitoring of various security devices and report on security events
identified
Recommending remediation actions and track event to resolution
Documenting activities, exceptions and problems using correct terminology
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
AS or 1-3 years working experience in InfoSec industry Network +, Security +,
CISSP and/or SANS GSEC Certification(s) preferred Familiarity with Intrusion
Detection and/or Firewall technologies Basic understanding of routing, Internet
services and protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, etc.
Strong understanding of Information and System Security
Knowledge of Windows/Unix operating systems
Experience with SIM tools
Ability to work independently, as well as in a highly collaborative team
environment
Experience operating in a 24x7 shift environment
Experience with various IDS devices
Highly motivated with a positive attitude
Solid interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and willing to work in many areas of the information security field
