This may include: conducting off-hours threat and vulnerability assessments of server and network infrastructure. Conducting monthly reviews of server patching, identifying gaps between current and expected patch state. Assisting managers in threat and vulnerability analysis and conducting periodic application security reviews. Working with members of IT to complete, define and implement remediation plans for noted security exposures. Additionally, the specialist will be required to work on special security related projects as determined by the CISO. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Job Requirements You must have a Bachelors degree along with a wide range of security consulting skills. You must demonstrate the following: The ability to independently execute threat and vulnerability testing; The ability to perform on-going risk and analysis of existing applications following a structured risk analysis process; The ability to define and implement fixes for noted security exposures; The ability to develop and document complex business cases to assist in gaining the necessary internal support to implement security solutions; The ability to respond to threat and vulnerability incidents through remediation efforts including implementation of a secure infrastructure and the development of incident response and recovery processes. You must demonstrate 1-2 years of experience in the following skill areas: Familiarity with threat and vulnerability methodology and practices; Preferred technology experience with Qualys, Nessus, Shavlik, SPI Dynamics WebInspect and Sanctum’s App Scan; Solid understanding of application security audit principles and best practices; Familiarity with general networking concepts and principles; Understanding of data classification and its impact on the security of a system; Understanding of common networking protocols and services and their relevant security issues (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, DNS, SNMP, etc.); Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new security technologies, the implementation requirements of those security technologies, and how to integrate those security technologies into a larger solution. Certifications such as the CISA, CISSP or certifications from SANS are appreciated. Travel for this position is in the 0-20% range.
