Position: Security Researcher
Location: Palo Alto, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Security Researcher
Overview:
As a member of our software security research group, you will apply your
interest and knowledge in software security to the problem of creating software
products that help developers and auditors detect and defend against
vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Expand the security content of Fortify tools by developing new content in
existing areas of analysis
- Follow trends and developments in the field of software security and assess
their significance
- Investigate and implement detailed techniques for exploiting software
security vulnerabilities
- Determine new methods for automatic identification of vulnerabilities in
software systems
- Compare Fortify results against known vulnerabilities in order to shape the
future direction of the product
- Identify new vulnerabilities by auditing open source projects and customer
code using Fortify tools
Qualifications:
- BA/BS, MS or PhD in computer science or engineering
- Proficient in C/C++ and Java (C#/ASP.NET a plus)
- Interest in up-to-the-minute details about software security
- Source code auditing or penetration testing experience preferred but not
required
Ideal qualities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent team player
- Good at breaking things
