Position:       VP of Regional Sales
Location:       Southern California, California, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

Drive sales growth for this unique start-up company. As employee #4, you will 
get in on the ground floor, with an equity position, and help the company 
achieve its ambitious goals. The company’s proprietary information 
security product provides strong authentication to corporate networks. Started 
in 2003, the company has since raised substantial funding to support 
development and operations. Beta-testing is underway with 2 premier customers, 
and production roll-out will be early 2006. 
Building a team of six people in year one, your objectives will include: 

- Create Sales Plan: Review market research and planning completed to date, 
refine as needed, and develop a sales plan to achieve rapid growth in all 
channels. 

- Establish Sales Channels and Drive Growth: Create an appropriate positioning 
and value-proposition strategy to optimize penetration of each area, and 
directly drive sales activity, including: Direct sales to “early 
adopter” enterprise organizations; Developing relationships OEMs in 
identity management solutions; Building channel relationships with VARs, System 
Integrators, government contractors, distributors and security products 
representative organizations. 

- Build Sales Organization: Ensure coverage of the key functions of business 
development, sales, and customer service. 

- Product Development: Contribute to product development ideas, participating 
in planning new product releases that respond to customer needs and demands. 

- Marketing Communications: Lead trade show and presentation marketing activity 
and assist CEO with production of collateral materials, web site development, 
advertising, and other similar marketing methods. 

- Capital Raising: Assist in positioning the company for its next round of 
financing.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Each new executive hire must enhance the credentials and credibility of the 
management team. Therefore, the “pedigree” of the VP of Sales will be 
important to the continuing success of the company. 

Education: BS degree required. Technical undergrad (Computer Science, 
Electrical Engineering), or similar is a plus. MBA is a strong plus. 

Experience: 15+ years of increasingly responsible sales experience, with at 
least 5 years in a leadership role. VP level in current (or most recent 
position). Experience with information security and/or computer access products 
is a plus. Ideally, will now be selling to Chief Security Officers and Chief 
Information Officers at enterprise customers, and will also have experience 
establishing relationships and selling through channels (VARs, System 
Integrators, etc.). Also must be experienced in establishing strategic OEM 
relationships. Must have experience in a growth environment, and have an 
established track record of driving significant growth for a company. Early 
career experience in a marquee training program (Xerox, IBM, etc.) is a plus. 

Knowledge and skills: Strong understanding of information security. An 
established “rolodex” of contacts in the information security sector 
is a strong plus. Must be adept with MS Office Suite, blackberry 
communications, and creating and presenting with PowerPoint.
