Position: Security Consultant
Location: Austin/San Antonio, Texas, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-12-24
A boutique security consulting firm with a growing Austin presence seeks a
junior to mid-level consultant who will contribute to critical infrastructure
security engagements and SCADA/control system security research projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED
- Solid foundation in networking, operating systems, and applications
- Ability to rapidly learn new tools, techniques, and products to support a
diverse range of projects and customers
- Competence in at least one scripting language (UNIX Shell, Perl, Python, PHP,
VB, etc.)
- Excellent research and oral communication skills
- Ability to efficiently work from home; willingness to travel up to 50%
- Sense of humor; capable of working alone or teamed with a senior consultant
DESIRED
- BA/BS or military experience (especially Intelligence or
communications/signal)
- Significant experience with multiple Linux/*BSD distributions and Open Source
applications
- Hands-on experience with Open Source vulnerability testing tools
- Familiarity with Commercial/Open Source network security products including
Firewalls, VPNs, and IDS
- Ability to analyze obscure and undocumented network protocols
- Strong customer and written communication skills
