The Security Consulting Practice requires experienced Technical Infrastructure 
Security Consultant.

Job Description:

•  Provide Infrastructure security thought leadership for a 
Programme’s technical solution
•  Ensure the delivered technical solution supports identified security, 
privacy and safety requirements
•  Responsible for directing the design, build, development, 
implementation and testing of Infrastructure technical security measures within 
a Programme
•  Work with Customer Security Managers, Security Governance Architects, 
Technical Architects and Solution Designers. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
•  Infrastructure Security specialist - experience of delivering security 
Infrastructure projects 
•  Proven experience in developing security policies, processes and 
procedures 
•  Proven experience/participation in delivery of Infrastructure security 
solutions
•  Proven experience architecting multi-product security in complex, large 
user population technical environments
•  Excellent understanding of Operating Systems including mainframe, UNIX 
and NT 
•  Understands possible alternative solutions to technical security and 
privacy requirements, such as single sign-on, application access control, 
identity management, digital signatures, audit, monitoring, network and 
platform security, 
•  Understands cost, advantages and disadvantages of various alternatives 
technical solutions
•  Good people and conflict resolution skills
•  Programme delivery experience

Person Profile (essential/desirable qualifications, experience, knowledge):
Requirements:
•  Operating System/Application Implementation and Hardening - UNIX, NT, 
mainframe
•  Network Security design, configuration and administration solutions for 
Remote Access, Wireless technologies, Firewall design, implementation and 
administration
•  Vulnerability Assessments (host, network, applications) 
•  Penetration Testing (host, network, applications) 
•  Enterprise Intrusion Detection Systems, Design Implementation and 
Testing 
•  Incident Response 
•  Encryption
•  Malware control and countermeasures
•  High level understanding of Security Management, BS7799, DPA
•  Ability to formulate security policy, process and management vision and 
experience with the BS7799 compliance/certification process, Business 
Impact/Risk Analysis experience
•  Delivery or assurance experience in multi-sourced environments helpful
 




Preferred technology experience with the following:  
•  Firewall and router configuration, switches, secure network 
architecture, Ethernet Token Ring, 
•  WAP, SMTP, FTP, Frame Relay, WAN, ATM, FDDI, DSL, ISDN
•  PKI, Identity & Access Management, LDAP, Directories, Access 
Management, User Provisioning 
•  Hardware and Software Encryption techniques and technologies
•  PERL, python, C++, C#, XML, HTML, shell, Delphi, Java, J2EE. 
•  Sniffer technologies, 
•  IPSEC, SSL, SSH, VPN, 
•  Spectrum, HP Openview, Sun NetManage, Cisco Works, 
•  UNIX Implementation and Administration (Solaris, AIX , HP-UX, BSD Linux)
•  Windows (9x, NT, 2K, XP, 2003) Implementation and Administration
•  VMS, AS/400 or MVS Implementation and Administration
 
Education & qualifications:
BSc/BEng in engineering, computer science, physics, information technology or 
related field, 
CLAS, CHECK, CISSP, CISM, GIAC certifications, CCNA, CCSE and/or MCSE a plus.  

We would also prefer candidates to have previous experience in financial 
services, though we will consider candidates from all industry and business 
sectors.

Minimum of five years system development, administration, security and 
experience.
