Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-12-17
The successful candidate will monitor the status of Intrusion Detection Systems
and Firewalls, including in-depth analysis of security events. The individual
in this role will also validate attacks against customer's systems and assess
the impact. If countermeasures are required, this Analyst will be responsible
for making the appropriate recommendations and working with the customer to
implement the recommendation. Other key responsibilities will include:
Gaining an intimate understanding of the customer's IT and Network
infrastructure
Analyzing events in order to identify, assess and remediate security events and
providing leadership on filtering/removing false positive events
Keeping up with current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures
Performing detailed traffic analysis and statistical correlation of events
Coordinating with clients to introduce appropriate security remediation
(filtering, signature creation and policy updates)
Coordinating and providing leadership to Security Analysts
JOB REQUIREMENTS

AS or 3-5 years working experience in InfoSec industry
Network +, Security +, CISSP and/or SANS GSEC Certification(s) preferred
Strong working knowledge of Intrusion Detection, Firewall technologies,
vulnerability concepts
In-depth understanding of routing, Internet services and protocols like TCP/IP,
DNS, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, etc.
Strong understanding of Information and System Security
Administrative knowledge of Windows/Unix operating systems
Experience with SIM tools
Ability to work independently, as well as in a highly collaborative team
environment
Experience operating in a 24x7 shift environment, leading shift
responsibilities and coordination
Highly motivated with a positive attitude
Solid interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and willing to work in many areas of the information security field
