Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager, located in New York
City, the Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for conducting software
testing and test automation for our next-generation enterprise security
technology.
* Participate in the development of test plans, test cases, test data, test
automation, hardware configuration and performance testing of enterprise
network security products.
* Interact directly with software developers to diagnose and recommend
solutions to issues with product security, reliability, and usability.
* Work with technical writers and software developers to ensure accuracy of
online and printed product documentation.
* Use internal bug tracking software to accurately communicate product
defects to the development staff and assist in prioritization and remediation
strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years combined experience in the following areas: quality
assurance, communication protocol testing, software integration testing,
software development, release engineering and/or configuration management.
* Willingness to hit the ground running in a fast-paced startup environment
with leading/bleeding edge security technology.
* Knowledge and experience in development and use of unattended and
automated testing, using scripting languages, batch languages, TCL, Java, C,
and/or C++.
* Hands-on experience testing enterprise network and security products,
including IDS/IPS, firewalls, VPNs, routers, and/or managed switches.
Experience using network traffic and attack generation tools is a plus.
Knowledge of Cisco IOS and CatOS is a plus.
* Hands-on experience testing databases and database applications.
Knowledge of SQL and RDBMS administration and tuning is a plus. Experience with
PostgreSQL is a plus.
* Experience with UNIX operating systems, especially Linux.
* Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking.
* Experience in performance and scalability testing.
* Knowledge of best practices and tools for automated testing of
cross-browser web applications.
* Understanding of software development and testing methodologies,
including agile testing.
This is a full-time position only. Applicants without significant network and
security experience should not apply. Applicants with the requisite network and
security experience who are looking to enter the software testing field will be
considered.
Education Requirements
BA or BS in Computer Science or a related field.
