Position:       Manager, Information Security
Location:       Denver, Colorado, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

The City and County of Denver’s Technology Services Division is seeking an 
Information Security Manager.  This new position will fill a critical role in 
protecting the City’s information technology assets and interests from 
intentional or unintentional harm.  The Information Security Manager will be 
responsible for researching, recommending and enforcing policies and procedures 
to improve IT Security controls and functions.  The IS Manager will advise city 
agencies on security issues and best practices, recommend the acquisition of 
security products, conduct IT security audits, implement training programs and 
respond to security incidents including coordinating response with management 
and law enforcement.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Requirements:  A Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, 
Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field and three years of 
professional level information technology experience which included information 
security architecture, information security procedures and controls, physical 
security, attack and penetration testing, application testing, information 
security program gap analysis and incident response.  Security certifications 
such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, CISA or CISM are strongly preferred.  

Additional appropriate experience and/or education may be substituted for the 
minimum education or experience requirements.  

A Supplemental Examination to measure knowledge in information security 
management will be emailed to candidates that qualify for this opening 
(approximately the first week in January, 2006).  Its completion is required to 
merit further consideration for this opening!
