Position: Database Security Architect
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Type: Contract

Our client is seeking a dynamic individual who enjoys working in a challenging
team atmosphere. This person will work with information technology DBAs, Data
Analysts, and Security Analysts in Technical Services and interface with
Application Support representatives who support several business areas within
client. This Senior Architect will be responsible for reviewing the
architecture and vendor product solutions of the DBMS Risk Program Projects in
order to suggest improvements which will effectively deliver significant
results. This Senior Architect position requires excellent communication and
presentation skills both verbally and in written form.
This Senior Architect will require strong technical and process engineering
skills in database access review, access control, inventory, standards, and
standards compliance monitoring. This Senior Architect will provide
improvement recommendations, metrics review, and process review for tactical
and strategic solutions for the DBMS Risk Remediation Program Projects.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Initially, this candidate will work with The DBMS Risk Remediation
Project teams to review and understand the scope of work, requirements,
detail project plans, resource requirements, which have been planned.
2. This candidate will also examine the tactical solutions which have been
implemented as temporary stop gaps in order to identify any process
improvements.
3. The candidate will review the direction for the strategic solution
including vendor selection and proofs of concept, applying the future state
process model to various applications to achieve both quantitative and
qualitative goals.
4. Provide multiple forms of communication including written, verbal,
informal and formal to report on progress and perform risk and issue management
activities.
5. Maintain strong relationships with the various information technology
and business unit representatives involved in the DBMS Risk Program Projects
Program during the project execution phases.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ideal candidate should have 15+ years of experience in IT Security
Administration and Architecture , Asset Management, and Configuration
Management experience working on projects for Single Sign On, Access Control,
and Access Review for operating systems, networks, file systems, databases,
and applications. This Senior Security Architect should be able to identify and
discuss potential issues which may need to be considered when implementing
database access review and control solutions for a large mainframe and large
client server environments. This Senior Architect should have a record of
success when working on large complex security and asset management projects.
This position requires detailed knowledge of the IT security industry and
associated emerging trends, their value proposition, and supporting technology.
The candidate should be strong in the following areas:
· Experience in evaluating and architecting LDAP and LAN
Management security solutions, backup operations, policies, and procedures as
they pertain to data growth and replication management.
· Experience tool review, selection, and use for App Detective,
Foundstone, Mercury Application Management, Guardiun, IBM Tivioli Identity
Management
· Experience with database products including IMS, DB2, and
Informix, ORACLE, MS SQL Server, Sybase.
· Experience with Operating systems security including ZOS, UNIX,
Lynux and security products RACF and Keon
· Experience with Network security and Cisco
· Experience with transaction managers IMS, CICS, MQ Series
· Experience with infrastructure storage vendors including
Tivoli Storage Management, EMC disk, Storage TEK tape, and associated
technologies [SRDF, Timefinder], HP Superdome clustering and MC ServiceGuard)
· Experience with development and operating within established
Service Level Agreements
· Can evaluate customers' strategic business issues, identify
requirements, create business case justifications, and propose appropriate
enterprise solutions.
· Understanding of enterprise data management and IT Risk
concepts and priorities and how these interrelate with current trends in the IT
security management industry.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Proven ability to take concepts, ideas, design, implementation, i.e. from
theoretical to practical application.
Excellent people/teamwork skills
Strong project estimation skills – able to estimate accurately in time,
cost and resources, and to critique the estimation of others
