Position: Security Engineer
Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Overview
The Customer Security Engineer is responsible providing front line support to
customer and sales prospects and providing expertise and participating in our
software development lifecycle. This person is responsible for empowering our
clients and partners to be successful with our security applications. Security
Engineers are expected to become experts in the installation, configuration,
tuning and troubleshooting of all StillSecure products. In addition, Security
Engineers will participate in assisting QA and development teams in testing our
applications. The Customer Security Engineer will also work closely with our
Customer Experience team to understand the customer experience and identifying
ways to make our applications easier to use and more effective.
Responsibilities:
• Provide front-line network security solution support for customers and
prospects
o Advise customers and prospects on network and security environment
installation, configuration, and tuning to achieve maximum value from
StillSecure’s security solutions
• Assist Development and QA Engineers throughout the software development
lifecycle by providing expertise with respect to network and OS environment
configuration.
o Assist in the creation of technical requirements and designs
o Provide input on network architecture plans for future product releases
o Participate in technical design reviews
o Maintain and configure the development and test environment
o Design and execute QA test scenarios on an as-needed basis
• Advise customers and prospects on best practices for deploying and
configuring our security solution during trials and implementation (pre-sale
and post sale)
• Serve as a content expert for channel partner training materials that
pertain to network security solutions and optimizing the configuration/tuning
of our network solutions
• Identify opportunities for streamlining the delivery of support and
drive the implementation of high value improvements in the process or means for
delivering support.
• Provide expertise and content for marketing and/or training materials
(white papers, training materials, collateral, etc.)
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Experience / Skill Requirements:
• Experience with security devices; firewall, IDS/IPS, Proxy
• Highly proficient in TCP/IP networking and network security
fundamentals
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with direct customer interaction in a support or sales
environment
• Highly proficient verbal and written skills, with emphasis on teaching
and patience.
• Highly proficient in Linux operating system configuration, utilities
and programming
o Linux OS, RPM and Linux utilities
o Linux Kernel/Drivers/Hardware a plus
• Experience manipulating SQL databases
• SQL database administration including Postgres and MySQL
• Scripting language experience including Shell, Perl and Python
• The ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented, and challenging
environment where priorities and parameters often change with little warning
• Strong customer empathy and orientation required. Excellent
customer/prospect communication skills
• Experience collaborating with a sales organization throughout a sales
cycle a plus
• Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
Special expertise in the following areas required;
• Cisco Switching/Routing (Foundry, HP Pro Curve a plus)

Education/Work Experience Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in technical or discipline or commensurate work
experience
Networking and Security Training
On-the-job Network and OS administration experience (Cisco/Linux)
