Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Type: Permanent P/T
Closing Date: 2005-12-09
Summary:
The Information Security function comprises Information Security, IT Security
and Business Continuity specialists who work with Direct Energy management and
staff to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity and availability of
information assets are maintained.
The Information Security Analyst ensures compliance with all information
security processes to allow Direct Energy to be compliant with statutory and
regulatory requirements and to ensure that compliance to business information
requirements are accurate, up-to-date and validated on an on-going basis.
The Information Security Analyst provides subject matter expertise on policies
and best practice as it relates to Information Security and provides assurance
that the Information Security processes remain effective through audit and
awareness programs.
Accountabilities:
·Provides expertise in the co-ordination and delivery of Information
Security activities across Direct Energy.
·Assists in the development and maintenance of the Direct Energy
Information Security Plan and Capability Roadmap.
·Deploys the policies and practices of the Information Security Policy,
mitigating risk and reducing liability for Direct Energy and its corporate
officers.
·Conducts internal audits and reports upon the conformance between
practice and information security policies/procedures.
·Provides interpretation of information security policies and guidelines
to assist business partners.
·Produces security reports to the Information Security Steering Group
that conforms to information security metrics.
·Maintains and collates current listings of legislative and regulatory
regulations, trends and issues relating to Information Security wherever Direct
Energy operates within North America.
·Other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
·BA or equivalent in Computer Science, Business or Finance with a focus
on information security and audit.
·Possession of a CISA or CISM or CISSP designation, or in progress.
·At least two years direct experience or assisting with the implementing
Information Security into an large organization
·Experience with formal risk assessment methodologies would be extremely
desirable
·Three to five years in a business or IT environment with an
understanding of Information Security Management practices.
·Demonstrable experience with formal methodologies including–
ISO17799 and COBIT.
·Demonstrated knowledge of Information Security Management Methods,
Tools and Techniques.
·Proven analytical skills.
·Ability to analyze complex information.
·Strong planning and organization skills
·Good influencing skills
·Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
·Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work across the
organization.
·Complete integrity and reliability to manage and perform sensitive and
confidential work.
