The Systems Security Professional position is a key component of our Technology
Security Assurance Services Certification (TSASC) team. Our security services
provide the building blocks for a hardened infrastructure. The TSASC team at
Washington Mutual has extensive experience with technical information security,
technical vulnerability assessments, and infrastructure security certification.
These services help us ensure infrastructure hardening, implementation of best
practices related to information security and compliance with regulatory
requirements.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our TSASC team in downtown
Seattle. Our group is building out a world class security testing environment
equipped with the latest security applications, custom configured hardware, and
test environments to discover and mitigate security weaknesses before they can
be exploited by unauthorized parties.
Responsibilities:
Assist with maturing TSASC service offerings and methodologies.
Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing within heterogeneous
networks.
Interact with clients as required, throughout the vulnerability assessment and
penetration testing process to include debriefing, educating, and negotiating.
Produce reports documenting observations and mitigation strategies identified
during the vulnerability assessment and penetration testing process.
Participate in research and knowledge sharing to provide recommendations for
continuous improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this position offering excellent opportunities for career
advancement to the right professional, candidates must have:
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT Security
related field
Experience performing vulnerability assessments and penetration tests utilizing
automated and manual methodologies
Strong UNIX, Windows, networking and wireless security skills
Strong application assessment skills
Ability to perform source code review from a security perspective (Java, C,
C++, C#, and ASP) is a plus
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time (nationwide)
Candidates with a CISSP and other related certification a plus
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience)
