Our client, the world’s leader in Internet Security, is looking for a 
Principal-level Researcher in the area of Crimeware and Fraud.  This is the 
opportunity to take a leading role in the hottest area in online security

Job Title: Principal Research Analyst (Focus on Online Fraud, Phishing, 
Crimeware)

Duties:
The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for researching existing and 
emerging Internet threats, with a specific focus on online fraud.  The analyst 
will focus exclusively on the online fraud space including threats such as 
Phishing, Pharming, credit card processing, database, and transaction security. 
 This role will involve the analysis and identification of new online fraud 
trends and criminal behavior.

The analyst will play a key role in the analysis of new emerging technologies 
and the identification of new threats that target those technologies.

The resulting research will play a pivotal role in the development of new 
security solutions, and the setting of product direction.  The analyst will 
serve as an evangelist, providing technical direction and advice to management 
in the long-range planning of new software solutions.

As a technical visionary, this position may also entail creating and 
implementing state of the art ideas; mentoring and helping to upgrade technical 
proficiency of the team; consistently delivering creative designs; responsible 
for system-level design specifications and technology plans.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Requirements:
An advanced degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of software 
development experience.  10 years of networking experience including TCP/IP and 
core application layer protocols.

The candidate will possess in-depth experience with transaction related 
technologies including:

-       Core internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL)
-       Web browser technologies and internals (in depth HTTP knowledge)
-       Encryption as related to online transaction security (SSL, S/MIME, PGP)
-       Credit card processing technologies, magnetic stripe technologies
-       Electronic funds transfer technologies and procedures
-       Fraud detection and early warning system experience

Proven track record in security related research with history of publications 
to industry conferences, working groups, and forums preferred.

In addition, the right candidate will have excellent communication and 
presentation skills with the ability to present research to an executive 
audience.

Previous experience in a financial services company with focus on fraud a plus.
