Position: Information Assurance Analyst
Location: Rosslyn, VA (near DC), Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

OVERVIEW
We are looking for an analyst to help build and manage information security
systems for U.S. government clients. Applicants must be technically proficient
in intrusion detection system design and tuning, vulnerability scanning and
analysis, security information management systems, firewall design and
management, etc. We need a team member who is highly motivated, has a great
attitude, and possesses solid communication skills.
Candidates must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. government security
clearance.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to work in many areas of
the information security field. This job has some engineering
responsibilities, but most responsibilities are operational in nature. This
work primarily involves:
• Daily IDS event analysis and reporting
• IDS tuning, upgrading, management
• Vulnerability management system configuration and operation
• Responding to security incidents and conducting vulnerability
remediation.
Other responsibilities vary from project to project but may include:
• Assisting in the design, deployment, and management of IDS sensors, IDS
management software and SIM reporting software,
• Assisting in the administration of Linux and Windows 2000 server
systems,
• Managing IDS sensors: tuning, signature updates, and installation,
• Assisting with technical and computer usage policy development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelors degree and four to five years experience working in the information
security field; detailed-oriented and willing to document work thoroughly;
certifications are preferred; Linux and Windows 2000 system administration; IDS
system experience (Cisco, Snort, etc.); NetForensics experience would be great;
HIDS; very strong TCP/IP skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.
JOB LOCATION, TRAVEL, AND OTHER DETAILS
Work is primarily in Rosslyn, VA. with the possibility of some international
travel. Any travel would be of short duration and would not exceed 20% of the
analyst’s time. Analyst will be provided with training, exposure, and
experience working with new technologies.
