Position: Security Engineer
Location: San Francisco, , United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-11-17
Looking for an seasoned Software Engineer who has experience working on
server-side products. Product performs analytics on large quantities of data
that are either streamed into the system on a continual basis or processed in
batches. The successful candidate for this position would have expertise in
designing and implementing server-side systems that can scale as well as remain
stable for extended periods of time. Since the server-side components
implement a distributed, scalable architecture, extensive knowledge of
networking techniques and protocols is a necessity. The successful candidate
should also want to be in a visible position in our engineering team and should
want to take on the responsibility of becoming our internal expert on these
components. Such a person would be viewed as a resource both by the
engineering team as well as our Services & Support staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Design and Implement extensions to our existing server components
*Maintain existing server components
*Assist other development teams in integrating with existing components
*Assist our Services & Support team with customer issues
*Internal documentation of API's and Network Protocols
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
-6+ years of recent experience coding in C++
-4+ years experience with networking technology
-Good communication skills
-Experience with Java is a plus
-Experience working on security-related apps
-Experience working on database products is a plus
-Experience working on hi-volume/scalable systems
-Experience working on distributed systems
-Experience working on data storage systems is a plus
-BS or better in a technical field, Computer Science backgrounds are preferred
