Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: Davidson, North Carolina, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-11-17
The objective of this position is to provide analysis of security related
incidents and execute reduction / prevention strategies. The incumbent will
assist the Security Team Lead in deploying and managing relevant security
technologies and policies through participation in a 24x7 security operations
team performing security support and assessments.
•Assess / manage security related processes and assist in their
development.
•Assess / manage security related policies and assist in their development.
•Assess / manage / deploy security related technologies
•Perform IT security incident resolution
•Perform vulnerabilities assessments
•Provide technical advice and coordinate responses to security
compromises.
•Identify trends in intruder activity.
•Work with other security experts to identify solutions to security
problems.
Enterprise wide security support for 26500 users and 1500 servers, which serve
all sectors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
This position requires a great deal of complex problem solving skills, often
under high stress situations. The nature and the speed of proliferation of the
threats, such as virus and worms, requires the ability to quickly analyze and
taken action.
Knowledge:
•Holistic understanding of overall IT security from governance to
configuration.
•Broad and deep understanding of operating systems ( emphasis on Microsoft
and Unix); Internet technologies & communication protocols; Security
technologies ( IDS, IPS, Encryption, Firewalls, VPN )
•Strong process orientation
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of one or more of the following products: Nessus, Okina
Stormwatch, Cisco CSA, Netforensics SIM, Cisco VMS
CISSP, CCSP or SANS GCIA accreditation
Minimum Years of Experience Necessary: 5-7
