Position: Security Consultant
Location: London + UK wide, , United Kingdom
Type: Permanent F/T

Background:
Our client, a very large, international IT Services and Consulting organisation
is substantially expanding its already well regarded security group.
We are looking for experienced security specialists who will help grow a
world-class capability by joining some of the best people in the industry,
further developing their own existing skills and competencies and producing
work of the highest standard.
Role:
Deliver and manage information/IT security assignments for Financial Services
anf FTSE 100/Global 1000 clients.
Overview:
You will need a strong technical background in the design, implementation,
testing, troubleshooting and administration of complex IT infrastructure.
You will also have a good understanding of security/risk management principles
and how to apply them to large scale, complex IT infrastructures in order to
reduce the likelihood of systems failing or being compromised due to a security
weakness.
You must have excellent communications skills and should be able to develop
good relationships with clients at all levels, from junior team members to
senior management, from IT or the business.
You should have experience of planning and executing engagements, ensuring that
deliverables meet client specifications and agreed schedules.

* Operating System/Application Implementation and Hardening
* Network design, configuration and administration
* Wireless technologies
* Firewall design, implementation and administration
* Security Audit
* Vulnerability Assessments (host, network, applications)
* Penetration Testing (host, network, applications)
* Enterprise IDS, Design Implementation and Testing
* Incident Response
* Identity Management
* Encryption
* Malware control and countermeasures
* UNIX Security
* NT/Windows 2000/2003 security
* High and Low level programming
* High level understanding of Security Management, BS7799, DPA
Preferred technology experience with the following:
* Firewall and router configuration, switches, secure network architecture,
Ethernet Token Ring, * WAP, SMTP, FTP, Frame Relay, WAN, ATM, FDDI, DSL, ISDN
* PKI, Identity Management, LDAP, Directories, Access Management, User
Provisioning
* Hardware and Software Encryption techniques and technologies
* PERL, python, C++, C#, XML, HTML, shell, Delphi, Java, J2EE.
* Sniffer technologies,
* IPSEC, SSL, SSH, VPN,
* Spectrum, HP Openview, Sun NetManage, Cisco Works,
* UNIX Implementation and Administration (Solaris, AIX , HP-UX, BSD Linux)
* Windows (9x, NT, 2K, XP, 2003) Implementation and Administration
* VMS, AS/400 or MVS Implementation and Administration
Education & qualifications:
BSc/BEng in engineering, computer science, physics, information technology or
related field,
CLAS, CHECK, CISSP, CISM, GIAC certifications, CCNA, CCSE and/or MCSE a plus.
We would also prefer candidates to have previous experience in financial
services, though we will consider candidates from all industry and business
sectors.
Minimum of five years system development, administration, security and
troubleshooting experience
