Position Overview This position reports to the Senior Director of IT and will have three major areas of responsibility in an exciting, fast-paced, 24x7, Solaris 8/9, Linux, Oracle, Cisco, and Windows-based heterogeneous environment: IT system and network security IT network management General Unix systems administration Major Responsibilities/Duties Position will have responsibility in three distinct areas: IT System and Network Security This position will be responsible for ensuring that Wayport maintains a high level of network security on its internal corporate network, servers, and workstations. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing all IT network and computer security policies. Manage corporate firewalls, VPN concentrators, intrusion detection systems, and all other security systems. Conduct vulnerability scans, log analysis, security audits, and forensic analysis of network, virus, and worm attacks. Stay abreast of all industry network and security issues and ensure all IT network devices, servers, and workstations remain secure through an internal patch management process. Work directly with the Development and Network-Engineering teams to improve the security of Wayport’s external customer-facing network. Work with all internal organizations to ensure that Wayport achieves and maintains regulatory compliance in such areas as CISP/PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley. IT Network Management Position will be responsible for the administration of Wayport’s internal network (including routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls) and network operations. Responsible for internal network design, router/switch/AP programming and maintenance, and overall internal network management. Will also work closely with Wayport’s Network-Engineering team on support issues for Wayport’s external customer facing network. Unix Systems Administration Position will assist the rest of the IT Unix administration team with the management of Unix hardware, software, OS, application, and networking support for Wayport’s internal systems as well as portions of Wayport’s external, customer facing systems. Wayport has a strong requirement for system stability, reliability, and uptime in a 24x7 heterogeneous environment. This position will also help develop and implement the strategic plans for IT infrastructure growth. Systems supported will include all Solaris and Linux backoffice systems in the corporate data center as well as servers in remote locations. Additionally, this position will support the Engineering labs and hardware/software development environments, perform OS and package builds for remote test and production servers, respond to system and network outage events, and support all corporate monitoring systems. A portion of the position will involve writing and/or maintaining various Unix/Linux shell and Perl scripts. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Successful candidate will meet most if not all of the following requirements: · Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar discipline (or equivalent work experience) · Minimum four years of network management experience in an enterprise environment · Minimum four years of network security analysis experience in an enterprise environment · Minimum four years of Unix system administration experience · Strong knowledge in deploying, operating, and maintaining various security systems including Kerberos, SSH, S/Key, TACACS+, and RADIUS · Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise network design · Strong Cisco router, switch, and PIX firewall management experience · Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS and routing/management protocols (OSPF, BGP, HSRP, etc…) · Cisco certification(s) are a big plus · Experience managing WANs (T1, DS3, PRI, etc…), WAN protocols, and VPNs · Strong knowledge of security certificate management and deployment · Experience in managing intrusion detection systems · Experience with vulnerability scans and assessments · Knowledge of authentication and authorization systems and protocols · Skills and experience in Solaris 8/9 and Linux · Strong TCP/IP network administration skills · Solid knowledge of Windows XP/2000/2003 networking and security.
