Position:       Sales Representative
Location:       New York City metro, New York, United States
Type:           Permanent P/T

Position Overview:                      
The successful candidate in this position will establish new relationships with 
targeted end user accounts in the New York metro territory.

General Sales Info:
The average deal is moving towards $100,000 per transaction but can range 
anywhere from $20,000-$100,000 or more. Average sales cycle is 6-9 months. The 
Sales Representative will have a local Pre Sales Engineer supporting him/her.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop high level relationships across the various departments at Fortune 
1000-5000 accounts. The focus will be on selling our clients solution to 
primarily the Networking and Security contacts within an organization such as 
the Director of Infrastructure, the Director of Networking, Head of Network 
Engineering as well as the Corporate Global Security officers. You will be 
driving a direct touch sales model with Channel sales interaction as well. 
Primary focus will be on creating new customers starting from your own rolodex 
and customer base, presenting the security solution to Director and VP level 
contacts. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Four year degree, preferably in business
Background: Ten years or more of experience selling technology solutions to the 
Enterprise Market in New York. Six years or more of experience selling complex 
security or software solutions. Some prior channel sales experience a plus as 
well. 
Technology: Preferred experience and or knowledge of Security Software, 
Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, VPN and general security 
technology. Prior experience selling networking technology desired as well.

Knowledge, Skills & abilities:
Be a sales practitioner who can carry the “High Level” message, close 
the business, manage the relationship and direct clients technical resources. 
Have a database of contacts with the networking and security organizations 
within major corporations within the territory. Need to be very aggressive and 
results driven hunter with a passion for prospecting and closing business. Must 
be assertive enough to ask for the support you need.  
Ability to communicate in an international and multicultural corporate 
environment.  

Will have and can document results in:
Ability to leverage an existing rolodex
Building high level relationships with the Fortune 1000-5000 sector
Selling “big picture” security solutions
Selling across an organization
