Security Intelligence - Engineer II
POSITION: Vulnerability Analyst
LOCATION: Reston, Virginia, USA
VeriSign/iDEFENSE Labs seeks a Vulnerability Analyst to work from our Reston,
VA, office. The ideal candidate will have a solid information security
(infosec) background. He or she will analyze technical source data into clear,
concise and legible vulnerability intelligence on a daily basis.
Candidates must be self-starters with a quick learning curve. He or she should
be detail-oriented, and should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced,
high-energy, deadline-driven environment.
Candidates must be willing to work from our Reston, VA, office. As such, a
residence in the metro Washington, DC, area (DC, Virginia or Maryland) is
recommended. This is NOT a telecommuting position.
Responsibilities
Qualified candidates will gather and conduct low-level analysis on
infosec-related vulnerabilities and exploit codes, and then convert it into
actionable intelligence. Analysts must be able to comprehend the subject matter
sufficiently enough to understand security implications and the resulting
effect on various IT infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will also
have the opportunity to participate in the creation of white papers and other
technical security bulletins that will be based on first-hand research and lab
verification.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* 1-4 years infosec experience
* Excellent analytical skills, along with superb grammar and technical writing
skills
* Strong organizational and personal skills
* Detail-oriented team player
* Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, deadline-driven environment
Desired Skillset
* Familiarity with TCP, UDP, and other network protocols
* Ability to understand Perl, C, C++, C#, Python or Java programming
* Experience with IDS/Nessus signature development and/or analysis
Education
* Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or a related field
preferred
