Position: Security Engineer
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Security Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and
must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
The successful candidate will possess experience of systems administration on a
combination of Windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. Candidate will be
responsible for FISMA implementation and must have expert knowledge of NIST
guidance pertaining to risk assessment, security planning, FIPS-compliant
impact analysis and contingency planning. Solid understanding of TCP/IP and
security related technologies and protocols. Experience in security
requirements, system, and security architecture.
Engineer will conduct security assessments including network and vulnerability
scanning, penetration testing, war driving and dialing and security reviews.
Evaluate new system architectures for security compliance against federal
requirements. Advise management on recommended courses of action against new
vulnerabilities.
Interface with the Intrusion Detection Team and the Security Officer to
establish and maintain security policies, standards, and guidelines. Track
patch compliance. Develop risk assessments, security plans and risk mitigation
plans to identify security risks.
