Position:       Security Consultant
Location:       Columbia, Maryland, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

Certification & Accreditation Engineer:
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting security 
Certification and Accreditation of a variety of U.S. government information 
systems and networks. The work location is at our office in Columbia, MD, and 
various customer sites in the Baltimore-Washington DC area on an as needed 
basis. Tasks include (but are not limited to) preparing security documents for 
C&A packages in support of agency Information System Security Officers and 
their staff. In this position, you will assist U.S. government agencies in 
complying with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002. 
You will be required to develop documents that support FISMA such as agency 
security requirements, security plans, IT contingency plans, disaster recovery 
plans, configuration management plans, business impact assessments, security 
self-assessments, security test & evaluations, system risk assessments, 
business risk assessments other security documents. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
This position requires a secret security clearance or the ability to be 
sufficiently cleared as such. Experience in Certification and Accreditation of 
systems and networks, or 10 years of experience in information technology of 
which 5 must be in information security. Demonstrated knowledge of information 
assurance technologies and their operational applications (e.g., hardening 
operating systems, support of authentication systems, support of firewalls and 
intrusion detection systems, etc.). Demonstrated knowledge of system 
administration processes in the Unix, Microsoft Windows, and network device 
(e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) areas. Good understanding of security 
policies and how to enforce them helpful. Experience with security audits 
helpful. Security engineers and security administrators who would like to learn 
how to become a security C&A engineer are welcome to apply. Familiarity with 
NIST guidelines and DITSCAP helpful. Excellent writing skills required. Salary
  commensurate with experience. 

Education:
Bachelors Degree in related field; if degree is not in related field, the 
extent of directly related experience in the field with degree in another 
discipline will be considered.
