The VR Studio is Disney’s Center of Excellence in interactive 
entertainment and real-time graphics. The studio is currently focused on the 
development and operation of Toontown Online (http://www.toontown.com) and 
Pirates of the Caribbean Online (http://www.pirateslegend.com).
Previous studio projects include the award-winning interactive theme park 
rides: Pirates of the Caribbean – Battle for Buccaneer Gold, and 
Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride http://www.disneyquest.com

We are searching for a talented and experienced individual who can help grow 
all aspects of our live operations and site engineering team. This position is 
responsible for the technical administration and support of Toontown and 
Pirates in a global marketplace. This position participates in the development 
and implementation of VR Studio products in a high-performance, 
high-availability environment and provides technical support to both internal 
and external customers. This role has the potential to expand into leadership 
of a team of people as the live operations and site engineering team grows 
alongside successful ventures.

TRAVEL
• Monthly travel from Seattle, WA to North Hollywood, CA will be required.
• Travel extending from 1-2 weeks from Seattle, WA to North Hollywood, CA 
should be expected on a periodic basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field 
preferred; or a corresponding number of years experience in technical 
operations or software engineering.
• 3 or more years experience designing and/or deploying Internet-based 
products or services.
• 3 or more years experience with TCP/IP, HTML, SQL, and Linux.
• Detailed knowledge of hardware technologies and systems support – 
administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security, 
and general maintenance of Intel and SUN platforms.
• Detailed knowledge of core Internet and networking protocols (BGP, EGP, 
and IGP protocols, DNS, DHCP, ARP, HTTP, HTTP/S, SSH), IP communication, packet 
structure, load balancing equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise operating systems including Microsoft 
Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris.
• Experience working in a high capacity mission-critical web serving 
environment with significant Internet components.
• Experience with web application development tools and utilities 
including PHP, JSP, Javascript, Flash, CVS, RCS, Perl, Python, and Bash.
• Experience with database schema design for OLAP and OLTP and database 
management systems including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Proven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems 
integration and design including writing operational specifications, test plans 
and requirements management with attention to detail.
• Superior judgment, problem resolution, team building, negotiation, 
budgeting, and decision-making skills as well as the ability to work under 
continual deadline pressure.
• Superb written and verbal communications skills; excellent presentation 
skills.
