Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-10-17
The Avaya[1] Product Security Support Team (PSST) is looking for knowledgeable
and passionate Security Engineers/Penetration Testers. The PSST is responsible
for analyzing and exploiting all externally reported vulnerabilities. We work
with development teams to address problems and convey the Avaya resolution
process to customers. In addition, the team proactively tests Avaya
applications/protocols/systems with both off-the-shelf analysis tools and
custom penetration testing code. We work directly with all product teams to
enhance security in their product with our findings. We drive process and
tools back into product teams, and build custom tools to make Avaya products
and services more secure. We educate Avaya development groups on common
programmatic security issues and methodologies for avoiding problem areas.
Candidates will perform security audits, penetration tests, security code
reviews (C/C++, Java, Perl, and Unix shell scripts), complex protocol analysis,
de
bugging/disassembly, cryptanalysis, and exploitation development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications include proven experience with security tools such as Nmap,
Nessus, Protos, Ethereal, Spike, IDA Pro, gdb, Ollydbg, etc. Prefer in-depth
knowledge in multiple Operating Systems to include Linux, Windows, Solaris, and
HP-UX. Candidates should be sharp, solid coders, and knowledgeable in exploit
writing, networking, cryptography, and penetration testing. Positions require
7 - 10 years experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preference is given to strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal
communication skills at both staff and executive levels. IP telephony, unified
communications (voice and text messaging, conferencing), or contact center
experience is a plus.
