Position: Security Engineer
Location: Myrtle Beach & Chicago, South Carolina, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

LURHQ is seeking qualified candidates for the position of MSS Security
Analysts. As a Security Analyst, you will provide 24x7 managed security
services to LURHQ customers.
This position will involve shift work based in a SOC located in either Myrtle
Beach, SC or Chicago, IL. Responsibilities and activities will include:
-24x7 intrusion analysis of security logs from devices such as IDS/IPS,
firewall, VPN, routers, switches, and application servers.
-Escalating incidents to customers and providing consultative guidance,
analysis, and assistance through the incident handling process.
-Managing security devices such as firewalls and intrusion prevention/detection
systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

This role requires a passion for identifying malicious activity in the logs for
information security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, honey-pots, etc.
A demonstrated proficiency (via certification or experience) with one or more
of the following security products is required: Cisco PIX & IDS, Check Point
Firewall-1, Snort IDS, Sourcefire IDS, RealSecure IDS, Dragon IDS, Netscreen
IDP, McAfee Intrushield, etc.
Candidates MUST hold the SANS GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst certification or
the skills to attain it within 90 days of employment. Other SANS GIAC
certifications such as GCIH, GCFW, & GSEC are a plus. Candidates should have a
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
Candidates must also have excellent written and verbal English communication
skills.
