Position: Security Architect
Location: Denver, Colorado, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-10-15
As part of the Security Technology Development Team, this Security
Architect/Program Manager will work closely with Product, Program, and
Development Managers as well as R&D leadership as a security technology planner
developing product security strategy and roadmaps that deliver security
solutions consistent with a cross-product security framework. Collaborating
with architecture and development resources to provide the detailed
implementation specifications and development effort estimates for security
related features and fixes, this resource will lead virtual teams of engineers
and product managers in design and implementation of cross product security
solutions and provide business and technology leadership for security
initiatives within the company as well as through external security-related
partnerships, standards organizations and consortiums.
Specific job duties include:
* Oversight of the overall security development and implementation process for
individual Avaya products from initiation through delivery
* Communication of the Avaya Convergence Security Strategy and roadmaps both
internally to the business as well as externally to customers, analysts, etc.
* Provides technical leadership for staff and work teams, particularly on
emerging areas within specialized function or process areas.
Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management.
Anticipates and identifies complex business needs and recommends solutions to
complex problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requires 7 - 10 years experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
experience, knowledge of company products, company functions, marketing and/or
service policies and procedures, and excellent communication and interpersonal
skills.
* A bachelor’s degree is required, a Master's degree desired.
* CISSP and/or CISA certification is preferred
8-10 years in application and data networking industry desired, 5-7 years in
design and implementation of network and/or application security,
protocol/system design & implementation
* IP telephony, unified communications (voice and text messaging,
conferencing), or contact center experience a plus
* Well-developed project leadership and program/time-management skills are
essential
* Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills at both
staff and executive levels will be required
* Preference given to candidates with VoIP, XML/SOAP/Web Services, and database
security expertise.
* Candidates must be confident in their abilities to develop security baseline
strategies and security methodologies.
Knowledge or experience with the following is desirable: Attack and penetration
security, Firewall, Identity management, Encryption, Assessment of network
vulnerability, Network configuration and administration, Virus software,
Security auditing, UNIX Security. Operating System and Application Hardening
Incident Response Training and Information Security Education Operational
experience running security lab environments Control frameworks such as
ISO17799 and COBIT in complex business and technology environments Firewall and
router configuration, switches, secure network architecture, VPNs, PKI, PMI,
Portals, Cisco, PERL, python, C++, XML, HTML. ISS, SNORT, sniffer technologies,
Windows 2000/NT, Solaris, AIX , HP-UX, Red Hat Linux, Checkpoint. and Nokia HA
firewalls, IPSEC, SSL, SSH, VPN, Ethernet Token Ring, WAP, SMTP, FTP, Frame
Relay, WAN, ATM, FDDI, DSL, ISDN, HP Openview, Sun NetManage, Cisco Works, and
RADIUS.
