Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Englewood, Colorado, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-10-16
Sr Systems Security Architect. Key member of team orchestrating all aspects of
systems security including operating systems, platforms, networks,
communications, COTS applications, as well as contractor developed software.
Applies experience and technical skills to design and implement a highly secure
system, while working with a dynamic team to develop operating system and
software architectural deliverables at a systems level encompassing multiple
systems and processes. Will spearhead development of advanced technological
ideas and guide their development into a final product, while acting as an
advisor to management and customers for technical research studies and
applications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

All applicants selected for this position will be subject to a Department of
Defense/government security background investigation and must be eligible for a
TS/SCI clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Position requires an active Top
Secret SSBI and SCI access as well as a CI polygraph.
Opportunity for a dynamic leader to provide vision and insight into emergent
technologies to design and implement a leading-edge, highly secure system
throughout the entire lifecycle of a multi-year program. The Sr. Systems
Security Architect is expected to meet the following requirements:
- Experience in designing and implementing security controls for complex,
highly integrated systems
- Experience in assessing technical and operational risk to mission systems
- Experience in conceiving, developing, and executing security architecture
trade studies after thorough analysis of system requirements
- Experience in Certification and Accreditation of network systems throughout
the DoD and other Federal Agencies, DCID 6/3 preferred
- Exposure to a wide range of security issues including architectures, network
access and controlled interface implementation and/or design
- Exposure to systems and software development with distributed Unix systems;
solid Unix and network experience mandatory
- Exposure to software architecture development in large system development
efforts
- Exposure to multi-level security (MLS) system design and implementation
principles, Trusted Solaris (TSOL) preferred
- Exposure to development and implementation of network security test and
verification procedures
- Effective communications skills and experience working with cross-discipline
teams of management, peers, and senior technical experts to advocate and
explain the relevance of system designs and technical security architectures to
meet program requirements
Requires a technical Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering,
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Security or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree with 10 years experience. Less
senior candidates with training/certifications (CISSP, etc) and highly relevant
experience are invited to apply.
