Job Description:
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our highly talented Quality Assurance
team in Columbia, Maryland. We are looking for individuals with extensive
experience in testing software products in a fast paced, commercial product
development environment.
QA Engineers will be expected to:
* Write and execute detailed test plans for Sourcefire's network
security solutions.
* Interact with Sourcefire development and Operations.
* Provide top-tier customer support on product related issues.
* Interact with vendors and partners on test-related issues.
* Track defects from discovery through resolution.
Individuals must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated, and
willing to learn new skills. Experience in a fast paced startup environment is
highly desired.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must Have
* Practical experience and clear understanding of Internet protocols
and their potential security implications.
* Practical experience with Intrusion Detection Systems.
* Experience using various types of network tools, such as Nmap, hping,
Fragroute, etc.
* Excellent analytical and technical skills
* Previous/current experience testing in a Linux, Solaris and other
UNIX environments as well as how to administer those environments.
Preferred
* Experience in defining test requirements, test methodologies and
setting up the required test lab and equipment
* Proficient in C, Perl, and Shell scripting languages
* Experience writing detailed test design specification for networking
equipment
* Experience stress testing network equipment
Educational
* Bachelor degree in EE/CS or related field or equivalent experience
