Position: Security Engineer
Location: Crystal Lake, Illinois, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-09-30
Applied Watch Technologies is seeking a security engineer willing to learn new
things in an extremely fast paced environment.
This individual must be able to demonstrate knowledge of packet analysis,
Network Intrusion Detection Systems, Host IDS', firewalls, and must have
stellar writing skills and be able to provide examples of previous reports.
Duties will include:
1) Security event analysis of customer networks
2) Writing security event reports
3) Internal engineering tasks and managing the Applied Watch server room
4) Conducting Applied Watch Snort IDS sensor installations
5) Perform product training for end-users
6) Applied Watch product beta and QA testing

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
1) Open source Snort, Snort-Inline, Nessus, and other open source projects
2) Ethereal, tcpdump, and other packet sniffers
3) Networking and routing knowledge
4) Writing skills for reporting and presentations
5) Different NIDS and HIDS solutions and vendors
6) Packet analysis for identifying IDS false positives
7) Demonstrated ability to write Snort IDS signatures
