POSITION SUMMARY
The System Operations Specialist, Infrastructure Services, is responsible for
operational support and management activities involved with the physical
infrastructure required to host Disney’s Online Businesses. This includes
the planning, installation, testing, maintenance, documentation and support of
server hardware, systems software, monitoring and management agents, and the
data center physical plant.
This position reports to the Manager of Infrastructure Services and will work
closely with other Technical Operations Teams including the WDIG Service
Operations Center (SOC), Networking Services, Data Architecture Services, and
Site Integration Teams to host the variety of Walt Disney Internet Businesses
and Services which including ESPN and ABC.
Primary responsibilities include working closely with a team of System
Engineers in a professional data center environment managing the provisioning,
building and management of all hosting infrastructure including power
equipment, rack and cabling, enterprise servers and networking devices.
Ensuring maximum reliability through eliminating single points of failure and
providing 24x7 monitoring is a critical success factor for this position and
team.
