Primary responsibilities include evaluation, implementation and support for Internet based solutions developed for these business units. This includes any content delivery systems, hardware configuration, custom software implementation, database administration, network and systems design, performance and process improvement, and systems documentation. Additional tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience; 5 plus years of demonstrated IT work experience; emphasis towards production support of a high capacity mission-critical web serving environment with significant Internet components; proven leader, communicator, and technical expert who works on more complex, enterprise-wide, mission-critical systems. • Responsible for systems with enterprise-wide focus, or for a large part of a mission-critical content or ecommerce site. • Special projects are large scale and take place over a significant time period. • Proven technical expertise in relevant state of the art technologies and systems, accompanied with expert systems design understanding. • Can be assigned any problem or project and can meet objectives independently. • Defines, builds and sets systems administration standards. • Upholds strong documentation policies and procedures. • Mentors others. • May lead others. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft operating systems is required, Solaris and Linux a plus. Skills in common scripting languages and HTML is also helpful. Understanding and troubleshooting of IP networking, with an emphasis on HTTP and other web protocols, experience with network protocol analyzers a plus. Knowledge and experience with Internet connectivity and technology, including DNS, bandwidth issues and technology (ISDN, T1, T3, OC3), routers and high-speed Ethernet switches helpful; Solid security fundamentals as they pertain to networks operating systems and application servers.
