The Role
Position: Security Consultant
Location: Zurich, Bern or Lausanne/ Switzerland
Key Responsibilities
The Security Consultant must have extensive experience in the areas of IT
Security to provide clients with a balanced understanding of their technical
security as well as the business drivers and processes required to ensure a
successful implementation. In addition, the Security Consultant will
demonstrate strong security architecture skills within the Internetworking
environment. They also possess strong Information Security Management skills
as well as considerable hands-on experience.
Duties may include:
• Risk Assessments and Security Audits based on INS’ National
Security Agency (NSA) certified Security Assessment Methodology
• Defense planning such as development of Information Security Policies
and Procedures as well as design of Incident Management Solutions
• Security workshops and Awareness Training for clients.
• Solution design and product selection in the area of Perimeter Security
including Firewalling, Content Security, Proxy Caching as well as VPN solutions.
• Architecture design of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
• Design of Enterprise Security Architecture based on common industry
standards such as ISO 17799.
• Pre-sales activities in the area of Information security
• Contribution to the internal INS security practice
• Training of client staff

• Operating Systems (OS): UNIX (Linux), Windows (NT, W2K and XP)
• Network Security:
- Cisco IOS, VoIP Security, TCP/IP Security including intermediary protocols
like SSL/TLS, www-protocols, Mail protocols, RAS protocols as well as
Authentication Service Protocols
- VPN technologies
- Wireless LAN Security technologies such as WEP, 802.1x EAP desirable
• Application Security: DNS (BIND) Security, Web and Mail Server Security,
Proxy/Caching systems, Database Security
• Security Scanners: Knowledge of different Footprinting/Information
gathering tools
• Security Technology: Firewalls (PIX, CheckPoint, NetScreen, etc.),
IDS/IPS, Remote Access Services
• WAN Technologies: Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS, etc.
Experience
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in IT Security consultancy,
ideally with strong Networking background
• Strong Security background in Security Management and Operations
• Hands-on experience in using security tools, techniques and methodologies
Education
• Computer Science or related technical degree from an accredited
institution or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge
• CISSP and/or CISA are preferable

• Prepared and willing to participate in pre-sales and to work in all the
above technical fields as required
• Fluent English language skills
• Swiss citizen, EU citizen or work permit holder with proven track record
in Switzerland preferred
