This position participates in the forecasting and successful procurement of third party products in support of ArcSight releases. This Product manager may also manage the development of new ArcSight product releases and offerings. Position Responsibilities: Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price, best product, etc.) Understands and communicates product road maps for assigned product(s) Participates in monitoring the product development process and escalates issues to Product Management for resolution Provides input into product requirements for local development projects Works with Marketing Communications, Documentation, Service/Support, and other groups to execute assigned components of the launch schedule and process for the product, ensuring that product is delivered within required time frames Collaborates with sales and logistics organizations to ensure accurate product forecast and product procurement Provides input into key advertising and promotions tactics for assigned product(s) Assists in executing end of product lifecycle and transition to minimize inventory and ensure launch time frames are met Serves as an internal and external expert for assigned product(s) Supports the company at events, including sale meetings and trade shows Supports the sales team in customer visits and presentations Conducts competitive analysis and benchmarking for assigned product(s) Communicates and monitors activities for local custom configuration for existing products Builds strong relationships with peers, Sales, SEC, and customers to best meet company goals and objectives Product Strategy: -Able to identify and quantify market opportunities, prioritized relative to other potential opportunities. -Develop a clear and compelling business case and product strategy through the MRD. -Regularly initiates customer interactions and solicits and identifies key customer needs that manifest themselves in requirements documents and speedy issue resolution. -Understand the needs of target customers and translate those needs into technical product requirements and provide clear, concise and prioritized direction to the Product Development team -Effectively communicates feature/functionality and system-wide requirements (platform, compatibility, human factors/usability, performance, integration, reliability, scalability, globalization, third party, upgrade and migration, packaging, installation and obsolescence) through the MRD document and issue resolution. Project Management -Coordinates and monitors translation, QA and release criteria, communicates status and escalates key risks and issues to executive management. -Develop complex project schedules, and manage project cost, scope, schedule and quality with minimal variances -Closely manage throughout the product development life cycle (PDLC). Identify and track issues, risks, dependencies, efficiencies, and critical path objectives.
