Position: Security Researcher
Location: Anywhere in the US, Georgia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-09-19
This position is requires seasoned candidate who has extensive technical
experience in the security industry, with a specific focus on vulnerability
research. The position is a Team Lead level, requiring the applicant to perform
in a technical and managerial capacity. The primary focus of this team is to
function as a research and development lab that supports the field X-Force
Penetration Testing team. This team will be tasked to interact with the
X-Force Engineering team, and to develop and test tools for use during
penetration testing engagements.
Responsibilities
The applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and staffing
of this new organization. He/she must be project-oriented and able to work with
minimal day-to-day direction. The applicant will be responsible for enhancing
the technical capacity of ISS? consulting team. The position requires an
applicant who can manage the team, and also function in a technical capacity.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
The applicant must have strong knowledge of Windows/Microsoft fundamentals.
The applicant must be well versed in C and C++. Strong information security
knowledge required. Applicant must be highly motivated and willing to take on
high-pressure projects under deadline. Applicant must be extremely
knowledgeable in the areas of source code auditing, exploit development,
vulnerability detection and identification. The applicant must have extensive
real-world experience in these areas.
?Extensive knowledge of exploit development, network exploitation and
?Extensive knowledge of penetration testing techniques
?Strong programming skills, C/C++
?Strong x86/SPARC assembly programming
?Strong network programming background
?Extensive experience with debugging tools and disassembly tools, gdb, dbx, IDA

?Extensive knowledge of Windows fundamentals
?Extensive knowledge of Intel hardware fundamentals
?General knowledge of Sparc hardware fundamentals
?Extensive knowledge of Unix fundamentals
?Strong background in computer/information security, malicious code, worms,
vulnerability analysis
?Extensive software reverse engineering background
?Strong technical writing ability, specialized for computer and information
security sector
?Desire to meet with customers as well as present at technical conferences
?General operational knowledge of ISS products
