Position: Security Consultant
Location: Edinburgh, , United Kingdom
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-09-02
The role is for a technical security specialist providing risk based advisory
services across the Group that includes, but is not limited to, the
provision/performing of :
Risk assessments and specifying security requirements.
Advice to business on technology aspects of their plans.
Security design input to new systems and ad-hoc requests.
Advice on policy & standards interpretation and implementation.
Defining compliance monitoring requirements.
Provide specialist assistance and review as required on the Banks Governance
Board.
Participate and contribute to information security and continuity working
groups.
Provide advice to business on technology aspects of their plans.
Advice on policy & standards development, interpretation and implementation.
Provide specialist input as required to Information Security architecture.
Defining security configurations.
Specialist expert knowledge with some of the following technologies.
Mainframe/midrange.
Internet/web security.
Firewalls (checkpoint Firewall-1, Cisco)
Network Security (Cisco routers etc).
Oracle
UNIX
Windows NT-2003
Cryptography (Symmetric, Asymmetric, Message Digests)
Virus Management and other malicious software.
IDS and IPS.
DOS and DDOS attack mitigration.
Specialist expert knowledge in risk assessment and controls management
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years consultancy experience
Minimum of 5 years security experience
