Position: Security Consultant
Location: New York, New York, United States
Type: Permanent P/T
Closing Date: 2005-09-16
Verisign is searching for strong, goal orientated information security
consultants for our Northeast Region.
Your role will be to provide security consultation to firms throughout the
Northeastern US. Travel can range from 25% -50% but it is primarily along the
Northeast Corridor and is typically a day to a few days at a time. Some
positions will allow you to work from a home office.
Specific functions will consist of customer interfacing, proposal development,
network, system and application layer vulnerability/penetration assessments,
policy review and development, device configuration and architecture reviews,
Visa CISP & MC SDP (PCI) assessments as well as legislative (SOX, HIPAA and
GLBA) and ISO 17799 compliance engagements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Various positions are open and requirements consist of the following:
Lead Consultant
Having Senior-Level knowledge and experience, 10 years + in information
security, a well rounded security background and understanding and ability to
translate business requirements to security risks, you will lead engagements
and provide direction and guidance to other project consultants. You must be
comfortable in delivering presentations to C-level executives as well their
senior technical staff. Strong hands-on technical skills, application
assessment experience and/or enterprise level risk experience required. These
candidates should have at a minimum a CISSP or equivalent and BA/BS degree.
Senior Consultant
Possessing Mid-Level knowledge and experience, 5 to 10 years in information
security and relevant information technology, best practices and standards, you
will be a key member of the engagement team often working autonomously on
individual tasks to contribute to the completion of larger projects. Strong
hands-on technical skills, application assessment and vulnerability/penetration
experience required. The expectation is that you will be a primary “go
to” person for the region when conducting detailed penetration tests.
Simply being able to run Nessus will not be sufficient. Knowledge and
application of Incident Response and Forensics practices a plus.
Educational requirements vary depending upon the position but can include:
Advance graduate degree or equivalent experience Bachelor degree or equivalent
experience, and an assortment of technical certifications such as CISSP,CISM,
CCNA, CCDA, CCSA, GIAC.
