Position: Security Engineer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-08-19
Responsible for the design, engineering and implementation of Checkpoint
network security firewalls used to provide perimeter network protection to the
client and its subsidiaries. Responsibilities include ongoing management and
maintenance of firewall infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to analyze situations, assess risk and determine appropriate
actions necessary to remediate risk. This individual must be able to work with
internal technology groups to coordinate deployment of solutions. Must exercise
good judgment in the handling of security related matters, must be sensitive to
both legal and personnel related ramifications of their actions. A minimum of 5
years of firewall administration and network engineering is required. This
individual must have a deep understanding of technologies such as statefull
inspection firewalls and proxy firewalls as well as a thorough knowledge of
operating systems and protocols such as UNIX, Linux, IPSO, TCP/IP, VRRP, and
OSPF. Knowledge of Provider-1 is a plus. On call duties are required for this
position. Certification such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CCSE or advanced degree
highly desired. The candidate must be a high energy self-starter who is
creative, takes initiative, and is not content with status-quo. The
job may require periodic night and weekend work for staff management &
oversight, and to support involvement during security incidents. Mon - Fri
8:00am - 5:00pm.
