Position: Sr. Security Engineer

Kronos is seeking a knowledgeable expert in the areas of Network and Systems
Security to help further our efforts to provide a safe and secure network.
Applicant should have a strong background and understanding of Security
Administration (5+ years), and have also work experience in general
network/systems support groups.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for someone who possess the following qualities:
- Strong experience in general network and systems security, understanding of
overall concepts, and the ability to implement policies, processes and develop
solutions to security problems.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced rapidly growing environment while keeping a
focus on securing the enterprise.
- Ability to identify security incidents and the capability to respond
appropriately to such incident
- Systems Administration level programming experience a must to help develop
the tools and automation needed to manage our growing environment. Preferably
experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Bourne Shell, CGI, PHP,
VB/WSH/KIX, etc. Code samples from past work will be expected.
- Experience analyzing network traffic to identify anomalies in a high volume
enterprise environment.
- Experience hardening the security of systems deployed into production
environments, including but not limited to: Windows NT/2000, Linux, Solaris,
and HP-UX.
- Experience administering and deploying network firewalls, such as Netscreen,
Checkpoint, Cisco ACLs or Linux based iptables packet filtering.
- Experience with networking equipment such as Cisco Routers and switches,
particularly in a fully meshed, fault-tolerant Gigabit Ethernet environment.
- Experience implementing Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems and developing
custom signatures.
- Ability to document processes and procedures clearly and accurately for
departmental use as well as define corporate polices to be referenced by the
company as a whole.
- Some experience in developing internal web-based toolsets and sites for
Security and IT staff to support a growing enterprise.
- Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure and encryption.
- Use of the following tools in production or enterprise environments: Snort,
Nessus, nmap, ntop, NA/Sniffer Pro, tcpdump, ethereal and other Open Source
tools.
