Position: Security Architect
Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-08-26
Exostar is looking for a qualified candidate to help take emerging security
requirements and design secure solutions that do not compromise functionality.
In addition, this candidate will represent Exostar’s security office to
internal stakeholders and customers. This role will be expected to perform the
following functions:
* Work with customers and Exostar’s program office during initial problem
analysis and requirements definition.
* Review requirements documentation and provide guidance on compliance with
Exostar policies and practices.
* Attend development status meetings to ensure compliance with Security Office
guidance
* Discover and define threats, and articulate available options with level of
effort in mind.
* Develop and propose technologically sound and robust countermeasures to
emerging threats.
* Manage or assist in deployment of proposed solutions.
* Develop security policies that reflect and drive Exostar’s corporate
security requirements
* Propose and develop security oversight mechanisms.
* Monitor operational security for Exostar’s internal and hosted resources
* Monitor vendor security alert lists, and oversee implementation of
countermeasures.
* Assess emerging technologies which may improve Exostar’s security
posture.
* Evaluate security vendor offerings, perform product analysis, and conduct
price negotiations.
* Participate in a variety of customer working groups dedicated to various
aspects of security and data protection.
* Develop position papers and marketing collateral for use by Exostar sales
teams.
* Provide pre-sales support to the sales team in the development of proposals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Experience
* 3-5 years Application security architecture and design
* 3-5 years Web and application server security
* 3-5 years InfoSec planning, assessment, and implementation
* 3-5 years of PKI and other encryption related technologies
* 6-8 years of general information technology
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or IS related field
Preferred
* CISSP certification
* GIAC or TICSA, etc. certifications
* 4-6 years application development experience
* 3-5 years of IT project management experience
* Aerospace and Defense industry experience
Background investigation required
