Summary:
The Market Research Analyst (MRA) is responsible for leading market research
and competitive intelligence activities including identifying, collecting, and
disseminating market research information.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, plan, execute and lead all market research and competitive
analysis projects from inception to implementation.
- Manage competitive data and market intelligence from various sources.
This includes being able to analyze and synthesize information from primary and
secondary research, drawing conclusions that provide recommendations on how to
position and leverage Websense products and services.
- Develop and publish competitive intelligence reports on Websense
competitors and their products on a worldwide basis.
- Track and analyze customer behavior, including win/loss analysis.
- Subscribe and distribute relevant industry and market data.
- Conduct market segmentation analysis.
- Publish regular updates on market conditions to track company progress
in market niches or product technology discipline.
- Provide marketing reports and analysis to support the Marketing group
and other internal customers.
- Manage outside vendors and market research budget.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in conducting market research – business to
business high tech research strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of competitive analysis for technology
products (software products preferred).
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, project management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong focus on customer needs.
- Ability to act quickly in a rapidly changing environment.
- Energetic, motivated, quick-learning, and can get things done
individually and through leveraging others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Business
Administration, Human Factors, or related field desired. MBA preferred.
