Position: Director, Information Security
Location: Alexandria, Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-08-19
General responsibilities for this position are broken down into three
categories: Operations, Team Management, and Sales.
Operations: * Responsible for the Managed Security Service business
unit¿s profit and loss in the Americas * Ensure managed security
services are delivered to clients; attends regular client pre and post sales
meetings to understand business requirements and solve strategic and tactical
problems. * Ensures compliance with with existing and new standards and
practices, to include working with auditors. * Highest point of escalation for
customer issues in the Americas, requiring 24x7 availability * Leadership and
Management of the SOC internal teams, to include Security Engineering, Security
Analysis, and Customer Service. * Frequent interaction with Infrastructure team
to ensure that service delivery is not impacted by system and capacity
limitations
Team Management: * Responsible for hiring all management positions in the SOC.
* Develop training and career pathing programs for all technical staff with
goal of maintaining employee retention * Coaches, mentors, and evaluates the
performance of senior MSS operations managers.
Sales * Evangelize, educate, and advocate Managed Security Services to entire
Symantec Sales force * Work with sales teams to generate new revenue streams
and develop upselling opportunities within current customer base. * Work
closely with Product Management to support existing and future sales
opportunities. * Negotiate and close sales contracts for all regions. * Regular
public speaking and print media opportunities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
*8-10 years experience in team management. 5+ years of operations experience in
a network operations center or similar environment. Extensive customer
relations experience in the technology services industry. *Bachelor's degree in
Business Administration or related fields is required. MBA and/or advanced
