Working closely with in-house Product / Marketing Managers and off-site development teams, the Engineering Manager will play a critical role in defining and driving the development and porting of our innovative mobile applications, primarily in the LBS space. As a liaison between product and development teams, the Engineering Manager will chart our technical course, at the helm of emerging LBS technologies. Responsibilities: • Work with Content Managers, Marketing, and Business Development to define new product concepts and drive their development to execution. • Port LBS applications to a range of BREW and J2ME devices for the US market. • Work with production and development teams worldwide to problem solve device specific issues and roll-in new features. • Liaise with external testing houses to understand, reproduce and fix problems. • Determine and drive business case for outsourced vs. in-house development • Coordinate and manage outsourced development efforts • Work with mobile phone operators on reporting and fixing handset issues that affect deployment of applications. Nice to Have: • Existing contacts / relationships with mobile operators and application developers • Experience with LBS platforms and GPS technologies • Japanese speaker Education: • BSCS and 3+ years of hands on experience in setting up and performing builds, release engineering, and testing.
