A leader in the application security market has a requirement for an 
intelligent, articulate and driven system engineer superstar with high-energy, 
in-born technical instinct, drive and motivation. The candidate must have 
enterprise security pre-sales support experience and a proven track record of 
significant achievement in this market.  This position will work closely with 
inside sales and the field sales organization, as well as our Channel Partners, 
in support of our corporate revenue goals.

We are expanding our sales organization to support demand brought about by the 
maturing of the market and our new product announcements. This is an 
opportunity to capitalize on the next significant opportunity in the enterprise 
security market. 
 
We are seeking veteran system engineering professionals with a track record of 
success supporting the direct and channel sales organizations in the field.  We 
have requirements on the East Coast (Boston, Metro NYC or Washington, DC), 
Chicago and San Francisco Bay areas.   
 
This position reports to the Vice President, Worldwide Sales.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

The System Engineer will have responsibility for delivering pre-sales support 
needed to achieve revenue targets for the company, while building the 
foundation for long term leadership in the market space. He or she will be 
responsible for leveraging the initial success of the founding team.  You have 
the ability to quickly discern qualified  from non-qualified opportunities.  
You will work with the sales team to develop and position solutions that 
involve the company’s products.  You will assist customers in configuring 
enterprise security solutions as well as support your own field organization in 
proposal creation and responding to RFP’s.    
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
-  A verifiable 10+ yr track record of successful technology sales support
-  Domain: Solid enterprise security solutions background with sophisticated 
software and appliance experience
-  Has obtained one or all:  CISSP, MCSE, SUN Professional or CNE 
-  Proven ability to sell new technology and build relationships with initial 
reference accounts 
-  Ability to support both direct and channel sales environments
-  Extremely proficient in networking topologies and system analysis
-  The ability to scope a business opportunity and create a corresponding 
statement of work 
-  Equally conversant with a CIO, CISO as you are with a project leader
-  Fluent in a structured sales methodology such as Solution Selling, 
Miller-Heiman, SPIN or Sandler
-  An existing knowledge of a major CRM system
-  Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
-  Confident platform skills
               
 
 
PREFERRED PROFILE:
The ideal candidate will have the entrepreneurial DNA to open and development 
new markets.  The candidate should be seasoned in working both private and 
public sector markets.   Experience with large players in information 
technology have given you the discipline and business process for success, but 
you have also worked for at least one emerging growth start up so you have no 
problem rolling up your sleeves to get a deal done.  Ideally, you have worked 
for one of the following companies in the industry:  CheckPoint, Cisco, F5, 
ISS, Juniper (Netscreen or Neoteris), Kovado, MacAfee or Symantec
               
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE: 
A bachelor’s degree from a respected college or university, or equivalent 
experience in the information technology marketplace or armed services.  You 
have a passion for this industry and are looking for an exciting opportunity to 
leverage your past experiences and skill set for your future success.
