Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-08-12
We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer with strong technical skills along
with the ability to create security solutions that maintain confidentiality,
integrity and availability of SIG's information assets throughout the
Enterprise. The Security Engineer will evaluate business objectives, derive the
technical requirements, and coordinate with appropriate technology disciplines
to develop secure, reliable, efficient solutions for the business. The
successful candidate will draw upon a solid academic/theoretical foundation in
Computer/Information Science and will have demonstrated working knowledge of
administering at least one server operating system (Unix/Windows/Linux), TCP/IP
networking, and security software. We seek a proven track record of security
architecture, design and implementation and the ability to work with all other
technology disciplines to develop holistic approaches to business problems.
SIG's fast paced, dynamic environment requires "out-of-the-box" thin
king and risk-based decision making in order to develop creative solutions for
the business. As SIG adjusts to changes in the market and to emerging business
opportunities, the Security Team continuously has new opportunities to support
the business and to cultivate the Security and Risk Practice. Daily
responsibilities require excellent prioritization skills to manage activities
which range from policy writing to risk assessments to firewall troubleshooting
and everything in between. The Security Engineer will be responsible for:
Refining and implementing the current data security plan according to
established timelines Developing and Maintaining policy and procedures that are
designed to protect designed computer prorams, data bases and data files from
unauthorized or accidental duplication, modification or destruction
Establishing and maintaining correct access rules defining who has access to
which data sets under what circumstances Recommending specific improvements to
security and internal control and follows up on all recommendations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Skills: 5-7 years of previous systems administration
experience in UNIX, NT, Linux and/or networking
2-4 years in Enterprise level data security systems required
Demonstrated strong problem solving experience, and experience with
snoop/tcpdump or equivalent in IP environment
Prior experience building and managing firewalls
VPN Experience a plus
Strong O/S: NT and/or UNIX/Linux, Network skills are required
Familiarity with fundamentals of networking/distributed computing environment
concepts (DNS, NFS, etc.)
Demonstrated project management experience required; team lead or supervisory
experience a plus
Strong interpersonal skills, must be able to work successfully on a team and
have consensus building skills
BS degree or equivalent experience is required
Financial or Government Industry experience strongly preferred
