Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: New London area, Connecticut, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-08-01
Works with Director of Program Management in developing, maintaining and
reporting on information security strategy, policies and procedures in support
of the business. Identifies, analyzes, develops mitigation plans for, and
reports on information security risks to the business. Develops and manages
incident response plans. Identifies and organizes multidisciplinary teams for
response to disruptive and destructive information security events. Ensures
periodic testing of plans, policies and procedures to ensure the ongoing
effectiveness. Acts as a consultant to other lines of business, providing
education and guidance on the protection of information systems assets.
Develops strong, positive business relationships, across all lines of business.
Takes a leadership role in demonstrating self-resiliency, team building,
communications, coaching, customer service, strategic planning, project
management, managing change and developing action plans. Promotes the
disciplines of Infor
mation Security and the benefits of good information security procedures.
Manages and develops direct reports. Partners with Human Resources in enforcing
the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as applicable to the company. Promotes
superior customer Service.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors’ degree and three years experience in an information security
discipline, with increasing levels of responsibility. In lieu of a formal
education, five years of experience in the development and application of
information security concepts and principles. Demonstrated knowledge of the
following Information Security concepts and technologies: Risk Assessment, Data
Classification, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, Incident Response,
Information Forensics, Cryptographic Techniques and Public Key Infrastructure.
Must possess excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Knowledge of
external vulnerability reporting sources and vulnerability assessment methods
and best practices.
